"Costco" Translates to "Heaven" in My Language.

.... that is, when Al Gore is not on the cover of the Costco publication.

via gov.aol.com

I decided to take a lunch time adventure today to get a new passport photo taken and to get some olive oil.

In true Costco form, I went in for 2 things and came out $300 shorter (but  richer in meats, quinoa, veggies, salts, peppers, pistachios, etc...).  But what I love most about Costco... is that every time I walk out with my cart and my Sharpie-marked receipt, and  feel like I'm walking out of a salon with a new do, or out of Saks with a new makeover, or out of a favorite boutique with a great new outfit.... Without guilt.  I don't have any buyers remorse ever from Costco.  EVER. I always feel good about my purchases.  I'm pretty sure I won't be buying Olive Oil for a whole year. That's exciting!

My husband prefers grocery shopping at mega Walmart.  Besides the quality of products (because Costco wins hands-down), this is why I choose Costco:

I go into Walmart after just showering and walk out of Walmart needing a shower.  I go into Costco not having showered, and walk out of there feeling so fresh and so clean.

Your tweets about Costco were so enthusiastic today, I was hoping you might have more to say about it! Passports and olive oil... only at Costco.

I agree that a good bargain makes me feel so good about myself, it's like I had a head to toe makeover. It's refreshing. :)

:) I love this post. It is amazing. Don't be so sure about that olive oil though. We bought 3L in August annnnnnd another 3L in January. In all fairness I do use it for EVERYTHING.

I'm totally with you here. I love our Costco-esque store. (We have BJs and Sams.) I always head there to buy our almonds, walnuts, oils, and frozen fruit. They have the best deal on HUGE bags of frozen fruit! And you can buy ten bananas for $1! Love, I tell you.

@Meghan Oh yes, we love the bulk fruit. I didn't get any today, but did get a bag of avocados!

@Ashley I'll have to look at the bananas next time. My littler guy eats about 2-3 a day and I put them in my smoothies and protein shakes. YUM. And bananas are good frozen too... like a Popsicle.

I'm catching up on your blog while out of town for work. Way behind...oy!

I LOVE Costco and cannot imagine life without it. But I always leave there with way more than I needed! And like you, I have no regrets.
